Good evening readers,
Writing any book takes time, the author spends many days and nights to get a right plot, climax, and characters. However, how much writing a book is a serious task there are always some fun facts attached to the book.
In this series, the author Ishan Majumdar of the corporate thriller, ‘The Celeritas Files’ has come up with some of the fun facts about his debut book.
♣ The conceptualization of THE CELERITAS FILES started in late November 2016. By the time, I started penning it down, it was end December, 2016. The first draft of the manuscript was ready by the end of March 2017.
♣ While the title of the book “THE CELERITAS FILES” comes across as intriguing and difficult to pronounce, I was firm on having it from Day One to give the book this name. Since my childhood, I was always enamored by the titles of Robert Ludlum books such as “The Prometheus Deception”, “The Sigma Protocol” and so on, which made no sense to the readers until they started reading the book.
♣ I have made sure that each and every character in the book is diverse, not just in nature, but also in terms of his/her cultural background. The book has characters from the North, South, East and West of India living in New Delhi and working in the same organization, subtly implying the cosmopolitan nature of the city.
♣ In terms of direct peers writing almost exactly the same genre, I really look up to Joseph Finder and Stephen Frey, who are both brilliant in the field. Paranoia by Finder is considered by me as the best corporate espionage novel that was ever written.
♣ The blurb of THE CELERITAS FILES comes across as that of a novel with a central character that is female (Shaina). However, when the plot was designed, it was supposed to be Amaan’s story. Eventually, the reason Shaina was eventually made the main character was purely for the impact of the climax. However, I consider Amaan and Rehana as his favorite characters who might continue in future books.
♣ The male lead, Amaan Sayyed’s character is a tribute to my late paternal grandfather, Taj Majumdar (originally named Tajuddin Sayyed at birth) who was of Persian descent. Just like the character, my grandfather also had short curly hair and Arabic white skin as a result of his lineage. He was also extremely fond of reading crime fiction novels and a big fan of Robert Ludlum.
